In 2013, I, along with my husband and 3 boys, moved from Stavanger, Norway to Dubai. During this time, I was fortunate to befriend Øydis Wikmark and learn about her charity, Education for Life. After accompaning her on her many visits to Nepal, I, too was taken in by the landscape, the people and hardships of Nepal.
Returning back to Stavanger, 2 years later, Himala was born, with the hopes to create sustainable jobs in Nepal by employing local manufacturers to design and create exclusive Himala products. The majority of Himala's products are designed in Norway, made in Nepal.
In addition, Himala continues to support of the work of EFL by donating a portion of all sales to their ongoing work in supporting education through books.
